This was my first experience with a home inspector as I am a first time home buyer, but I can’t imagine it gets better than Mike. He was already on the property and working before I arrived, and was able to answer any and all questions I had. Mike took pictures of absolutely everything regardless of it needing fixed or not and he thoroughly went through every picture with me at the end. The inspection report I received was immaculate and very detailed. I am very impressed with the work Mike did and would recommend him to everyone.!- Brandon Bliss
It was great meeting you and your family. We love doing home inspections for police officers and first responders! Thank you for your service. Good luck to you.
We say this frequently but we'll say it again: at Tri-County Inspections we LOVE first-time home buyers!! Inspecting any home for any buyer is great but the real thrill comes from helping a first-time home owner to understand the ins-and-outs of home maintenance and factors that go into being a home owner. The first-time home owner inspection is typically a little longer as we discuss the process and explain things in a way our customer easily understands.
What is most important when doing a home inspection for a first-time home owner is to use language that is not alarming. We remember the feelings of buying our first homes - excited, nervous, cautious, apprehensive... can we really do this? Can we afford this? Is this going to be a money pit? Are we getting in over our heads? Have we thought of everything? The home inspector just said signs of past water damage - does that mean we should walk away?!?! Our goal is to put everything into perspective and help calm those nerves.
First Time Home Buyer Inspection Specialists
Understandably, first time home buyers are quick to worry that the slightest thing on a home inspection is cause for alarm. At Tri-County Inspections we're grateful to be chosen as your home inspection company and we find it rewarding to be able to explain to the first-time home owner things like the difference between a home inspection and a home appraisal, and what happens if the house they're buying has a Federal Pacific electric panel? Our home inspectors explain every last detail in a manner that is informative and non-alarmist - being honest when there's an indication of a major repair needed, but not making every little thing on the report seem like it should be a deal-breaker. It's fair to say every existing home owner has a list of maintenance, updates or improvements they want to do at home - upgrades, some deferred maintenance, things they meant to get to last year but never got around to. Our home inspection report is designed to give the new home owner a list of things that aren't perfect, and help them prioritize after they get moved and settled-in. No home is 100% perfect. Even new construction homes should get a thorough home inspection.
